Under less than ideal circumstances, I attempted to observe and photograph the Perseid Meteor Shower. The near-Full Moon did not help.
During this month's Lunar Eclipse, I witnessed a bright and large meteor streak from approximately Zenith into the Southwest.
The image above was the most spectacular, captured very early in the session.
Correspondingly, over the last few months I have missed the Moon occulting Saturn, every time, due to bad weather; this month was no different.
Though the sky was mostly clear lest a few stray clouds, the Moon’s brightness was the only unfortunate circumstance compared to last year’s.
